I have decided to post my favourite song from each album (in chronological order by release) by my favourite band of all time.  April Wine began in Nova Scotia in the late 60’s and later moved to my hometown, Montreal, where, as a kid I first saw them play in 1981…it was my first big rock n roll concert and it left a huge impression on me, and was one of the 2 main reasons I learned to play guitar.  The other reason was “chicks”.  ;)

Roughly 10 years after my first April Wine concert I was playing music full time in Montreal, and had the privilege and pleasure to meet and play with one of the members of April Wine, Brian Greenway - a superb guitar player and singer, and a really good guy too.

April wine reunited in the early 90’s and continue to tour the world. They  celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2009 and are still out there making great music.

Song number 1:  Fast Train, from their eponymous 1st album, released in 1971.  I triple dog dare you not to like this tune! :D
