rowdymouth asked: Hey there! What's your opinion on the Les Paul Studio Faded?
I like pretty much any Gibson product EXCEPT these cheap-looking new “Melody Maker” series. I think they are trying to go head to head against the Fender Blacktop line. this is an odd role reversal and it is usually Fender trying to go after Gibsons in the categories where Gibson is dominant (e.g. in the thin line semi-hollow market, where over the years Fender has introduced a number of semi-hollow bodies - e.g. the Coronado - and yet decades later Gibson ES’s still rule that market).
I always advocate getting the best instrument you can afford - after all, if you are not in love with your instrument, it is not as fun to play, and if it’s not fun to play then you won’t play it! In the Les Paul range there a few inexpensive options…but the Studio Faded is one of them. I say it’s it;s a great value for the money. you could easily spend an extra 1000 dollars on a more high-end Gibson and you may not actually like it any better!
Hope that helps!
